For anyone who has followed this blog or knows me, my style is very clean and simple, square corners, symmetrical and balanced. I think that is because the rest of my life is so chaotic that my creativity time needs to balance that! I don't do a lot of collage and mixed media. It hurts my brain.
BUT sometimes we need to step out of our comfort zone to grow and so that is exactly what I did today.
Okay, so its not that far out there but for me it is very different. Especially because I don't usually do tags. (No offense to Tim Holtz and friends, but I am a very practical person and do not have much use for tags.)
I began first by misting (okay, saturating) a piece of speckled cardstock with the Fireworks spray and then letting it drip downward. I love the combination of the splatter and the drips.
Then I paste embossed, using Dreamweaver's yellow embossing paste, the Two Daisies stencil using the sculpted paste technique to give it some texture. Once that was dry, I dabbed on some Stamp n Stick glue and then applied the Metallic F/X.
The imagine tag is shrink plastic which was stenciled with Black Stazon and colored on the back with Lemoncello Color Solutions.
The Dreamweaver products I used:The ribbons are May Arts (can you say gorgeous!), the spray is Tsukineko Fireworks and the stamps by Hero Arts are from an old, old, old set I cannot part with!
- LL405 imagine inspire believe
- LL549 Tall Daisies
- Lemoncello Color Solutions Alcohol Ink
- Yellow Matte Paste
- Forestry Metallic F/X
- Nouveau Orange Metallic F/X
Remember, if your local store doesn't carry Dreamweaver products, you can always find ALL of their products online at Stencil with Style, including the Stamp n Stick glue pad and finger daubers!
Thanks so much for stopping by. I'd really like some input on this piece as it is quite different from me. Please either encourage me or totally discourage, either way, please just leave me your thoughts!
And remember to hop on over to the other Dreamers participating in this week's challenge:
I'll be back next week with a bit of May inspiration! Hugs and happy creating!!!!

I LOVE your tag! And I also love that you stepped out of your comfort zone. It's really so pretty and fun! Why not stick the completed tag to a card, or a gift? I am sure that you will find a use for it. It's really fantastic.
For someone out of their comfort zone, you did a fabulous job! I love how this turned out, the sculpted paste looks very cool. Well done!
Cherylynn - Well I love tags and I love yours!!!! Can I have it?
i agree with everyone else - hard to believe you don't do tags! luv the flowers with all the texture and colouring. beautiful.
Very nicely done. And so creative...No one would ever know that you "stepped" out of your comfort zone. Great job!
Your tag is awesome!! Gorgeous colors and textures!! I'm a huge fan of tags... they are little pieces of art works and I use them for gift tags sometimes or add them to card fronts or just keep them for myself as the little pieces of art they are. :)
Wonderful sculpted paste daisies, Cherylynn. Love the drips and runs in blue for contrast. And that cute shrink tag...omg!
Very cool! I'm not a tag person either but I like your technique & what you did, great stencil for the size tag (one of my favs), love the blue background.
