Happy Hanukkah

I just finished taking a World Religions course as part of my goal to keep my aging brain engaged. And so it was in this frame of mind, I created today's Dreamweaver Challenge card. The theme for August is "Christmas in August" and so I varied it the theme slightly to include our Jewish friends.

The stencil I used, LJ926 Happy Hanukkah, is a brand new one that was released at CHA last month.

To create the card, I used the Molten Magic technique with Dreamweaver's Glossy Blue Embossing paste and sprinkled it while wet with Metallic F/X powders in: Wedgwood Blue, Pewter and Gold Dust.

I kept the card very simple as Hanukkah is a religious holiday and I did not want to offend anyone with my taking any artistic liberties.

Please take some time to go visit other Dream Team blogs today to see what they've created for their Christmas in August challenge. All the participating members links are below:

And remember, you still have time to create your own submission for this month's challenge. All the details can be found here on the Dreamweaver blog. And don't forget about the Dreamweaver Facebook page where there are always new inspiration pieces, conversations and even opportunities to win prizes!

Thanks for stopping by. See you all next week!

Dreamweaver Woodware Finale!

FINALE DAY!

I hope you've enjoyed this week of collaboration between the Dreamweaver and the Woodware Design Teams. I know I have. I am totally inspired and ready to start thinking about Christmas!

There is still time to win some awesome prizes! All that you need to do is hop back and forth across the "pond" on each day, oohing and aaahhhing as you go, and leaving us plenty of holiday love. In return, you'll be entered to randomly win one prize package for a UK commenter, and a second prize package for a US commenter, featuring products distributed in the UK by Woodware...including Dreamweaver and Stampendous!

Prize includes four stencils, one die, and two stamps, selection may vary.

For my final creation, I thought I'd share a card I made that combines my two favorite things: stencils and stamping! They just go so perfectly together, just like Oreos and milk!

The background was done using two Dreamweaver stencils: LX7002 Plaid and LJ804 Big Dots. The Dots stencil was paste embossed using Dreamweaver's Glossy Red Paste and the Plaid stencil uses the Glossy Green paste.

The stamp is a brand new one from Stampendous House Mouse stamp called "Trim the Tree" that I colored using watercolor pencils.

Remember, the products featured here can be purchased in the UK from stores listed on the Woodware UK site, and in the US from stores listed on the Dreamweaver Stencils site, or online at Stencil with Style.

Now's the time for you to leave a comment and move on to the next designer for today:

I'm off to work on some Christmas cards! I might even get them mailed this year!

Stampendous Surfer and Sandcastle Kiddos • Dreamweaver Hot Air Balloon, Ice Cream Cones, Summer, Mosaic Swirls, Bird Words, and Sandcastle stencils
My life for the months of June and July has been nutso crazy. Between birthdays and graduations, weddings and family trips, I haven't had a single weekend day free since early May. So today, I thought I'd create a card that would take me away from all this craziness and just let me float away to a land of glitter and crafting!

Main Supplies used:

Stampendous Cling Hot Air Trio CRP198
Stampendous Soaring Sentiments SSC1170
Dreamweaver Original Embossing Paste
Stewart Stamp & Stick Glue Pad
Stampendous Crystal Glitter

  1. Paste emboss Hot Air Balloon on aqua cardstock.  Set aside to dry.
  2. Stamp Hot Air Trio with Versamark on teach cardstock
  3. Stamp sentiment on patterned paper using black ink.
  4. Adhere patterned paper to card base. Embellish with ric rac.
  5. Realign stencil over pasted balloon and add color using pigment inks and stencil brush.
  6. Dab Stamp & Stick glue pad over colored image and heat set. Sprinkle on crystal glitter.
  7. Trim around pasted image and adhere to card with foam tape.
Very easy, somewhat quick and for just a few moments, took me to a place I haven't in a long time: the magical land of crafting and glitter!

Thanks for stopping by. And now head on over to the other bloggers posts.Remember today is the last day of the HOP so be sure to leave a comment so you can win one of the fabulous prize packages!
