Taking a break from the heat!

Hi there,

So instead of posting a Summer Fun creation today, I thought I'd share with you a card I created using one of the BRAND NEW Dreamweaver designs just released at CHA this week, LJ923 Mittens.

For complete info on how I created this fun card, check out my blog post over at Paper Craft Planet.

Dont' forget, you only have a few more days to submit your SUMMER FUN creation to be entered to win another one of the Dreamweaver BRAND NEW winter themed stencils! Go to the Dreamweaver blog and link up to Mr. Linky or email your design directly to Lynell@DreamweaverStencils.com.

Thanks for stopping by today and please don't forget to check out the other Dreamweaver Design Team blogs to see what magical creations they have for you today. All the links can be found in the right hand column.

Hope you're having a wonderful summer!

Its Summertime, sum, sum, Summertime!!!!

Sing along with me:

"It's summertime summertime sum sum summertime Summertime summertime sum sum summertime Summertime summertime sum sum summertime Summertime summertime sum sum summertime summertime..."

Now if that didn't get you in the mood for summer, hopefully this month's Dreamweaver challenge will because it's "SUMMERTIME FUN"! How fun and easy is that?!

This week I have been quite busy working on projects for next week's CHA Summer trade show so I had to keep my card today quite clean and simple.

Keeping with hot summer colors, I dry embossed the LL358 Heliconia stencil in my Big Shot and then colored it with pigment inks. Pretty simple, but rather bright and sunny, which works for me!

If you would like to join the challenge just create something that shouts "SUMMERTIME" and link up to "Mr. Linky" on the Dreamweaver blog OR email your design to Lynell@DreamweaverStencils.com.

There will be TWO winners and the prize is pretty awesome. Each winner will receive one of the brand new stencils just being introduced at CHA. You could actually own it before stores have it in stock. How cool is that? Here's a sneak peak of a portion of the stencil.

One prize will be awarded to the person who best interprets the challenge and a second prize for the best use of Dreamweaver products. So see?....you don't even have to use Dreamweaver products (of course we are thrilled when you do.)

And don't forget to visit the other team member's blogs listed on the side bar for more summertime inspiration.

Let the Summer begin! (And a sneak peek!!!)

Welcome to July! This month the Dreamweaver challenge is Summer Fun. I can't wait to see what the other "Dreamers" come up with.

For me,  the timing of this theme is perfect because Summer doesn't begin in Oregon until after the 4th of July!

And for me, summer means Ice Cream! Yes, you heard me right,

I scream,
You scream,
We all scream for ICE CREAM!!!!
And so what better way to kick off my Summer Fun projects than with ICE CREAM!

Dreamweaver LM185 Ice Cream Cones, Original Paste and Metallic F/X

I began my paste embossing the LM183 Ice Cream Cones stencil with original paste, using the sculpted paste technique for the ice cream. When that was dry, I repositioned the stencil and applied Pearlescent Beige to the cones and dabbed the cones with Stewarts Stamp and Stick Glue pad.
After lightly heating the glue with the heat gun, I brushed on Dreamweaver Metallic F/X in Cocoa, Moonstone and Pixie Blue to turn my all vanilla cones into Neopolatin cones!
A fun, simple and ever so lighthearted card that I hope will bring a smile to your face and some ice cream to your lips!
Now hop on over to the other Dreamweaver Design Team blogs and check out their Summer Fun creations.
Happy Summer One and All! Let the fun times begin!
Speaking of fun times, CHA Summer is quickly approaching and Dreamweaver will be releasing some new holiday stencils. You will fall in love with these stencils, I know I did. And to tease you even further, here's a sneak peak of one of them:

If you love this part, you should see the whole stencil! It is gorgeous!!!

BONUS: Participate in this month's Summer Fun Challenge and this is the stencil you can win!
