Another "Dreampendous" Creation

Welcome to the THIRD DAY of the Dreamweaver/Stampendous Blog Hop! I hope you've been enjoying this as much as I have.

All of this week the Dreamweaver Stencils' Dream Team and the Stampendous Design Teams will be providing some "Dream-pendous" inspiration for you, with multiple opportunities to win some fabulous prizes from both companies.

Each day this week, you will be directed from both the Stampendous Impressions' blog or the Dream It Up! blog to the players du jour for your oohing and aaahing pleasure. Everyone will be playing on Saturday, the 14th with our final hop for the week. This is your opportunity to see how to mix and mingle your creativity...if you are a stenciler, you will be fascinated at combining stamps with your first love. If you are a stamper, you will be wowed at how stencils can add to your impressions.

This card was a lot of fun to make and surprisingly it went together fairly quickly. Here's a quick summary:

1. Using Dreamweaver's LJ820 Floral Lace and the double-glitter technique, create the glitter lace piece.

2. Using the same stencil, machine emboss onto vanilla cardstock and ink with Victorian Velvet Distress sink

3. Using Dreamweaver's LJ836 Doily stencil, tap Versamark ink over the stencil openings. Remove stencil and sprinkle and heat emboss with Stampendous Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel. Cut out with Oval Die.

4. Stamp NEW Stampendous Phone Lady CRV263 with Black ink onto Mauve cardstock. Cut out with oval die.

The rest is just laying and embellishing. Pretty straightforward.

I'll be back Wednesday with yet another creation for this fun blog hop! Hope you'll stop by and say hi!
Dreamweaver LJ882 Diamond Grid stencil with Black Matte Paste
Stampendous NEW Phone Gent Cling Stamp CRV264
and Frantage Vintage Glitter

Stamp Phone Gent with Black Ink onto white cardstock; heat set.
Using a small Versamark pad, ink edges of white cardstock and sprinkle on silver embossing powder (DO NOT HEAT, YET!); sprinkle over the embossing powder Silver Vintage Glitter. NOW heat from behind until the embossing powder melts and incorporates the Vintage Glitter into it.
Layer onto black cardstock and red mat.

Using REMOVABLE TAPE (Scotch brand works the best); adhere LJ882 Diamond Grid stencil over red cardstock. Completely tape around all four sides of the stencil. Using Dreamweaver's Paste Spreader and Black Matte paste, pull a light layer of stencil paste over the stencil (NOTE: let gravity do most of the work don't push or press with the spreader or you'll end up pushing paste under the fine bridgework of the stencil.). Set aside to dry (or use a griddle on WARM heat).

Once dry, trim to desired size and layer onto white cardstock.

Cardstock is Coredinations Vintage from my "stash" as is the button.

CAS but I think really emphasizes this fun new stamp from Stampendous!

What do April Showers Bring?

Happy Thursday! I love spring, I love flowers. The rain, not so much...BUT APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS so...

And that just happens to be what Dreamweaver's April Challenge is. Again, it is so versatile. Do you like the rain? Umbrellas? Or are you more of a flower person? Or both? Whatever you choose, you've got a lot of options in creating your entry for the challenge (and thus, no excuses for not participating!)

I know Alison Heikkila and Joy Hauck are glad they entered the March challenge! Allison won for the Best Interpretation and Joy won for Best Use of a Dreamweaver product. And did you know that the very GENEROUS LYNELL HARLOW, Owner of Dreamweaver Stencils, sent a FREE stencil to everyone who participated?!

So to get you inspired, I thought I'd do both a shower and a flower card, all-in-one!

Dreamweaver stencils: LG737 Umbrella and LJ905 Raindrops;
Silver Embossing Paste: Blue Rain Glitter by Art Glitter;
Stamp is Penny Black and DP is My MInd's Eye

Now why don't you head over to the other Dreamweaver Design Team blogs (links on the right) and see what inspiration they have cooked up for you.

Please come back tomorrow as I have a SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT to share with all of you.

Same stencil, different day

Yesterday I went bright and sunny with the Dreamweaver Plumeria stencil, pigment inks, translucent paste and glitter.

So today I thought I would show you another card that uses the same Plumeria stencil but skips the paste and glitter:

This card is not only clean and simple, it is also really FAST to make. Need a 10 minute card, this is it!

I first machine-embossed the LX7001 Plaid stencil on white cardstock for the background. Then I machine-embossed the Plumeria stencil, also on white cardstock. With the stencil in place and with the help of my trusty Picasso stencil, I rouged pigment inks onto the embossed image.

There you have it, a clean and simple, all occasion card!

Hope you'll join me tomorrow for the reveal of this month's Dreamweaver challenge!

A Bright and Sunny Way to Start the Day

Sometimes the old tried and true is just what the Dr. ordered. And this card is the perfect example of that! One of the first techniques I ever learned using Dreamweaver product is to color the image with pigment ink and then layer on Translucent paste and sprinkle with Crystal/Prisma glitter. Its very much like the first time you used a heat gun for heat embossing, the WOW factor is amazing!

Here is a card that uses that technique that we made at  Saturday's Spring Fling and that we'll also be making at Stacy's Scrap Shack in Lincoln City, OR on May 5.

It is so bright and sunny. Such a great way to start a morning!

April Showers

HAPPY APRIL!

A couple of weeks ago I shared this card:

I had so many positive emails and requests to teach this card that I felt obligated. But I wasn't completely happy with the results above, so with a little tweaking, this is what I changed to:

They both are very similar, just a slight change of color and popping the sentiment! Which one do you prefer?
