A Bright and Cheery Dahlia

Another grey and dreary day here in the Pacific Northwest! So that must mean its time for another bright and sunny card from Saturday's Spring Fling.
And this one truly is bright and cheery, thanks to Gelatos!
The Impression Obsession Dahlia was stamped and embossed in white on watercolor paper. Then colored with yellow and orange Gelatos and waterblended together using our fingers.

The sentiment is from Flourishes You Inside & Out set. The inside aptly states "brighten my day!"
A simple card but it surely brightened my day.
Please come on back tomorrow for Dreamweaver Thursday. I really like the simple Tiny Treat project I created.
Until then, wishing sunny skies to all of you!

Elegant Tulip

Its a grey, wet day here in the Pacific Northwest so I thought I'd share a bright and cheery card we made at our Spring Fling last week.

This card features the Impression Obsession Elegant Tulip that was stamped with Onyx Black Versafine on Watercolor paper and painted with Twinkling H2Os. Oh how I wish the shimmer would show on the photo. It truly is very stunning in real life.

The Kraft die cut was made from Spellbinders Floral Ovals S4-356 (and I just realized that I forgot to poke out a few cutouts--oops!) and the embossed panel was done with a Cuttlebug Embossing folder.

I think this card is going to sit front and center on my desk today to help combat the dreary rainy day we're having!

Hope your day is full of sunshine and happy times!

Think Spring!

Woo Hoo! Spring begins today! Happy is me!!!

For today's celebration creation, I thought I would use Impression Obsessions Dogwood 3 stamp and paint it with Twinkling H2Os. (Ooooh, can you say shimmer!)

The background image is also Impression Obsession. Its one of their Cover-A-Card. I love using those stamps for backgrounds. And the spring sentiment is one of my all-time spring favorites by Amuse and was stamped with Distress Forest Moss.

And the texture on the pink mat is Dreamweaver's Flower Quatrefoil.
'
Both dies are Spellbinders and the punch is EK Success.

Since tomorrow is Thursday I will be featuring my Dreamweaver Bloomin' Spring challenge so I hope you'll pop on over.

Until then, I hope your day is a wonderful one.

Obsessed with Spring

Welcome back to Day 2 of Celebrate Spring!

Today's card features Impression Obsession's Elegant Tulip stamp that was colored with Copics and then fussy cut out. The sentiment stamp is Penny Black and the die cuts are both Spellbinders.

It is quite grey here today in the Pacific Northwest so I chose some bright colors, instead of traditional Spring pastels. Mood when done: bright and cheery!

Until tomorrow when Day 3 of this celebration continues, happy creating. May you have blue skies today and always!

No Hunting Allowed

For me, the hardest cards to design are those for the men in our life. And the feedback I get when I teach is that seems to be everyone else's problem area as well.

So lately when I've been designing for a class, I have tried to incorporate at least one masculine card in each grouping.

Today I am sharing with you one of the cards we will be doing in my upcoming classes later this month and next at both Karen and Friends Creations and at Stampin' Cat Studio.

Impression Obsession
H1863 Hunting Season
I love this card because not only is it a great masculine card but it also comes the warm colors and textures perfect for the fall season.

Please stop by next week when I will share another card from these classes as well as one or two from the Dreamweaver class. Plus on Thursday, September 20, I will again be featured on PaperCraft Planet's blog with another fun, yet easy Dreamweaver tutorial perfect for fall!

Fashionista

I hope you all had a great weekend. I did. We had the Heirloom Rubber stamp convention in Portland so I spent Saturday morning with some incredible girlfriends and saw a lot of people that I only get to see once a year! Hugs were plentiful and so were smiles!

And this coming weekend looks to be more of the same! I am teaching a couple of classes in Portland to an incredible group of friends. I do this a couple of times each year and it is always filled with a lot of laughter and hugs! I am so looking forward to it. The power of female friendships is so underrated!

This is one of the cards we will be making. It uses a little bit of everything so it has something for everyone: stamps, glitter, stencils, alcohol ink, tulle...you name it!

Tim Holtz Dress form die, Dreamweaver stencils:  LJ820 Floral Lace Stencil and LJ907 Damask, Dreamweaver Darkest Brown alcohol ink, Impression Obsession Thick and Thin Cover-a-Card stamp, Stampin up Tempting Turquoise and Espresso Cardstock, Stamping Up Tempting Turquoise Ink, Vintage Photo Distress ink, Glitter Ritz glitter, Spellbinders Nestabilities.
I designed this card for a very dear friend of mine who has a birthday this week. She always is so put together. Something I seem to fail at miserably! She will be coming to the class this weekend and I hope she has as much fun making it as I did designing it with her in mind.

Hope today is the beginning of a wonderful week for all of you.

Spring is in the Air Challenge

I am going to call this Challenge Week! I am feeling to do some "spring cleaning" of my creativity and there is no better way to refresh and rejuvenate than to challenge yourself. So this week I am going to participate in a different challenge each day.

For this first day of my Challenge Week, I am joining Impression Obsession's Spring is in the Air Challenge.

Impression Obsession stamps used: G5561 Silhouette 11, B8387 Relaxing Day,
CAC027 Flourishes and CAC047 Distressed Corduroy
A clean and simple card. That seems to be my go to style. I think it is because my "day life" is always filled with chaos so when I create, I go to clear my head and my creations reflect that.

Hope you'll join me in participating in challenges this week. They are a lot of fun!

Until tomorrow, hugs and Happy Spring (almost!)
